Recently at Burlington High School we have been playing with an app that’s been around for a while yet still super cool. Garage band is a great tool accessible on the Apple Store and is fun to play around with. The photo above is from ‘LIVE LOOPS’ one of the two main sections of Garage Band where you are able to play around with different sounds and mix the beats in a way replicating a DJ. There are various choices in ‘LIVE LOOPS’ depending on what type of genre of beats you wish to make. In the app you will find virtual instruments such as piano, guitar, drums, and etc. If your into music you may want to check out this great app. Who says you need a music studio and so much equipment to make yourself some nice music? Though Garage Band isn’t exactly an app used by professionals but rather a tool made for amateurs. Not everyone can afford or is accessible to physical instruments but Garage Band is a free app that offers a variety of options for people trying to experiment or enjoy themselves musically. This app is also a useful tool for the classroom. It is a good way to introduce young students into instruments and the different types to find out their interests. For older students it also expands ways to present information as well it offers music teachers more resources when teaching kids about music and engage them with more activities like making a song to help them learn the process of creating music and it’s entirety. Garage Band is a wonderful app that gave such a great experience so much that I must recommend that you look into it.

With the help of Mr. Wong we have been using a new app Ready Maker at Help Desk. Ready Maker is a game design app which we have utilized in creating the pong game. Basically, the pong game is just virtual ping pong against an A.I. We put in a lot of time and effort into creating this game but it was very fun experience for a lover of video games such as myself.

Windsor MuzooraMy name is Windsor Muzoora. I am currently a freshman at Burlington High School. I have lived in Burlington my entire life. I have an older brother named Malachi. My interests are playing basketball as well as playing video games. I decided to join Help Desk for my first year and first semester in high school so I could obtain vital and necessary knowledge to help me better understand technology. I want to be an aid when others are having technical difficulties. I want to learn more about how to code so I can create games of my very own. My future career is undecided but I am interested in becoming a professional basketball player in the NBA or possibly a job as a brain surgeon. I don’t want to have to struggle with technology later in life. My experience in Help Desk will open up more opportunities for me. I know technology is going to advance and I want to be ready. High school is one of the most defining times in our lives and one of the most important. Our choices that we make now will help us in the long run. ArchivesCategories |
